Block coding is one of the trendiest educational tools used by many teachers. Developed by the MIT, Scratch and Scratch Jr lead block coding apps because they are free, intuitive and can be used in a multitude of projects. This workshop aims to introduce Scratch and Scratch Jr to teachers, navigate them through the user interface, teach how to develop from simple to complex projects and to give a “step-by-step” tool that will allow teachers to create their own projects. Come prepared for a interactive, conversational workshop full of experimentation and hands-on activities. Teachers are encouraged to bring their own laptop (but up to 20 Chromebooks can be provided).
