CATCA 2023 has ended

CATCA recognizes that convention is situated on Treaty 7, South of Red Deer River, the traditional territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuu T’ina, and Stoney Nakoda peoples, and that the North of Red Deer River Treaty 6, traditional Métis, Cree, and Saulteaux territory. We honour the First Peoples who have lived here since time immemorial, and we give thanks for the land.

PVC Science: Stomp Rockets, Marshmallow Blasters and the Science of Flight FULL

Come and construct a stomp rocket launcher (with paper rocket) and marshmallow blaster with PVC pipes to explore projectile motion, rocketry and the science of flight. Once constructed participants can then test and evaluate their designs which is all part of STEM education. These activities can be modified for use in the Grade 1, 3, 4 “Building” units in science, the Grade 6 Flight and Sky Science unit, Grade 7 Structures and Forces, Grade 8 Mechanical Systems, Grade 9 Space Exploration and the Physics 20 kinematics unit. 3, 2, 1 blast off!
