Hey Science, Health, CTS Foods, and CTS Agriculture teachers! Are you looking for a new approach to explaining sustainability and the health benefits of canola and pulses to students from the soil up? During this interactive session, we will explore the health benefits and science of canola and pulses specifically as to how they affect our cell development and overall health of our body systems. We will be getting our hands dirty as we explore how soil chemistry can impact the health of canola and pulse growth, and discuss the sustainable practices that farmers use to ensure optimum soil health to feed an ever-increasing global population. Last of all, we will demonstrate how Alberta pulses and canola can be incorporated into a tasty farm to table recipe!
