CATCA 2023 has ended

CATCA recognizes that convention is situated on Treaty 7, South of Red Deer River, the traditional territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuu T’ina, and Stoney Nakoda peoples, and that the North of Red Deer River Treaty 6, traditional Métis, Cree, and Saulteaux territory. We honour the First Peoples who have lived here since time immemorial, and we give thanks for the land.

The 1980’s promised us a paperless future. While we have still not seen the promise of flying cars and zero paper, we do have self driving cars and every person does indeed have a calculator in their pocket at all times. The last four decades have forced educators to rely even more heavily on technology to ensure their students are being taught, even when there is no access to the school building. Teaching with paper and teaching with technology have one thing in common, it begins with relationships. However, the approaches to teaching with technology are not the same as paper tasks, but the focus is the same, maximizing student engagement so the lessons and learning are relevant.
