The Alberta government has stripped the Association of its responsibilities for teacher discipline including receiving complaints, investigating allegations and holding disciplinary hearings. These functions will now be undertaken by the government under an internal process partly facilitated by the Alberta Teaching Profession Commissioner, Julia Sproule. This is a massive sea change in process and the Association is here to help explain the new system and to support teachers who are the subject of complaints made to Alberta Education.
