Our hope as educators is that we can equip and empower our students with the skills necessary to navigate this world, especially in times of urgency and of uncertainty. When it comes to science related topics, we see a lack of science literacy in the general population, and in turn it affects their ability to make crucial decisions in their day to day lives. We must effectively equip students with science literacy skills to help them navigate crucial decision making moments. Teachers will receive support on how to foster scientific literacy in their classrooms, especially on topical controversial science topics like vaccines and climate change. Teachers will walk away with tips and tricks on how to approach these subjects with their students and will be given a guide with relevant resources.
