CATCA recognizes that convention is situated on Treaty 7, South of Red Deer River, the traditional territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuu T’ina, and Stoney Nakoda peoples, and that the North of Red Deer River Treaty 6, traditional Métis, Cree, and Saulteaux territory. We honour the First Peoples who have lived here since time immemorial, and we give thanks for the land.

Ian graduated from the U of A in 2002 and began his teaching career in Red Deer. Since then he has taught math and science in Japan, Mexico, China, Vancouver and Edmonton. He has spent over 15 years teaching AB and IB Physics and Calculus and completed a Masters in Education at UBC in 2010. In addition to teaching Physics and Astronomy at Jasper Place High School Ian is also researching scientific literacy and argumentation at the University of Alberta. When he's not in the classroom he's likely to be found behind his telescope staring up at the sky.
