CATCA 2023 has ended

CATCA recognizes that convention is situated on Treaty 7, South of Red Deer River, the traditional territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuu T’ina, and Stoney Nakoda peoples, and that the North of Red Deer River Treaty 6, traditional Métis, Cree, and Saulteaux territory. We honour the First Peoples who have lived here since time immemorial, and we give thanks for the land.

Chris Aanderson (he/him) has been a teacher with Edmonton Public Schools for the past 5 years at Victoria School of the Arts. He teaches Film and Media Arts and Social Studies and is also a union ACTRA Film and TV actor with 20 years experience in the Alberta Film Industry in acting, crewing, and producing capacities. He grew up on a cattle ranch in Red Deer and received his Bachelor of Science in Biology which lead to a decade working in the computer industry and being a board member with multiple charities before following the call to become a school teacher. His wife Kristine is a Registered Psychologist who also had a career in the Film Industry and he has two daughters who attend Edmonton Public Schools whom he is very proud of.
