CATCA 2023 has ended

CATCA recognizes that convention is situated on Treaty 7, South of Red Deer River, the traditional territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuu T’ina, and Stoney Nakoda peoples, and that the North of Red Deer River Treaty 6, traditional Métis, Cree, and Saulteaux territory. We honour the First Peoples who have lived here since time immemorial, and we give thanks for the land.

Kristian Basaraba

Next Step High School
Kristian Basaraba is presently a high school science teacher at Next Step High school in Sherwood Park. He has a Master’s of Science in Science Education from Montana State University and has taught all levels of high school science, including International Baccalaureate and non-academic courses. He was recently been nominated for/won several awards, including the CAP Award for Excellence in Teaching High School Physics and the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta: Who Makes School Cool? Teacher Award. Kristian has presented to various professional groups on topics that have included “Exploring the Inquiry Continuum in Lab Investigations for Physics 20 and 30”, “Biff, Bang, Boom Science: Science Demos to Engage and Inspire” and “Peer Feedback in Secondary School Science” and “Banksy, Basquiat and Book Learning: Exploring Social Justice Learning through Street Art.”
